Trip to the Midwest comments heard from the front seat

First off, we flew to the Midwest this year (and it was great)..

Heard between the airport and our destination after arriving:
"ok kids, lets play a new game, the first one to spot a mountain wins!"
2-3 minutes later
"this game is boring and will never end, there are no mountains!"

Several minutes later I hear, "this place really has no mountains, it would be hard to get used to this"


After a few days of being on the road, just a couple, the kids notice a phenomena and reach some startling conclusions, maybe suggestions for the state of Indiana.

Kid 1 "Hey is that a restaurant?"
Kid 2 "yeah, it is"
Kid 3 "let me guess, Waffle House?"
Kid 1 "Waffle House"
Kid 2 "What is this Waffle House? Everywhere we go its Waffle House. What is this place Waffle World?"

Indiana should consider renaming itself Waffle World, or Waffle House world, whatever would get some sponsorship from Waffle World.
